Im still waiting for it to arrive, and yes it has been years. In the meantime, I discovered software that actually works and is free. TestDisk checks the partition and boot sectors of your disks. Testdisk will recover a partition, and photorec will recover the photos from the partition. Only downside is the prehistoric interface where you cant choose which photos to recover (you need to recover them all then you cull them), but its recovered any photos and videos that Ive lost due to accidental reformat.
